DC-3 Plane
Five persons from a Minneapolis business firm flew into Shawano yesterday with this huge DC-3 plane. The group was transacting business in this area.
The size of the huge craft is compared with the small Moony Mite owned by Jack Miller of Gillett. Airport Manager AL Demeo is shown checking the smaller plane.

Dear Sir:
I thought you might be interested in the following survey.
According to John H. Shafer F.A.A. Administrator, “A recent survey revealed that of the top 500 corporations in the United States, 80 percent of them would not locate new plants in cities not served by an airport.
Speaking at dedication ceremonies for the Golden Triangle Regional Airport in Columbus, Mississippi, Shafer said these figures are significant because eight of every 10 new factories are now being built in small towns. He cited U.S. Chamber of Commerce figures showing that each 100 factory jobs mean an additional $590,000.00 for spending in the town.
Sincerely yours,
Clarence Schampers
